Emergency Broadcast Network
A bit of early 90s sampledelia for you. Situated somewhere after Burroughs/Gysin’s cut-ups and Terminator X’s cut and paste manifestos of sound, there was the Emergency Broadcast Network. I was first introduced to them via the Trance Europe Express 3 compilation and their track “378″.
It’s still astonishingly clever work. The Frank Sinatra piece is downright mind-altering.
The entire video is available in streaming format:

I would have loved to have seen this stuff in a live setting.
A nod also to Coldcut, live and in effect making Boris Yeltsin do a little jig for the audience when I caught them several years ago. Similar video mix stylings.
Thanks to Loki for the reminder.
